SEA flight attendant

"I was diagnosed with breast cancer in April 06.  I had 6 months of chemo, 7 weeks of radiation and a mastectomy.  I was unable to work for a year and a half.  Thank goodness for the Beacon Foundation helping me with co-pays, supplements, gas to get to my appointments.  Co-pays for radiation were $700.  Supplements were $200 per month - not covered by insurance.  I returned to work for 4 1/2 months and started breast reconstruction.  I am off for 3 1/2 months.  I've moved home with my parents and am on food stamps.  Beacon is paying my Cobra payments, gas, car insurance and medical co-pays.  Without the generous support of my fellow flight attendants I would be going into debt.  I am so appreciative, I know these are hard times for all of us.  Thank you for reaching into your pockets to help out a grateful fellow flight attendant."
